Pet Lovers Everywhere!
Have you ever had your pet run away,or wander from your home when you thought he or she might be sleeping? Well if there isn’t a “Pet Finders Anonymous” group somewhere… there should be! Experience taught me to “never leave home without one!”
The unthinkable happened! It was wintertime and my Bichon Frise used the doggie door before bedtime. My grand kids were visiting and Chante usually would go hide behind a plant when they were visiting so my thought was she was hiding there until bedtime and then would come jump on my bed later after they went to bed. Wrong!
The next morning I awoke and no Chante! I was frantic… woke the grand kids up and we began frantically searching for my beloved little dog.It was a Sunday. We searched everywhere… knocked on doors, called the pound to no avail! I noted that my little Bichon had clawed her way and dug at the corner of the yard until she was able to squeeze her fat little body through an opening. I was heartsick. We took out an ad in the paper immediately Monday morning, visited the local pound, called the Humane Society again searched the neighborhood, quickly posted fliers with her picture… still no Chante. To make a long story short, we did find my Chante two days later after a few calls and two visits to the pound. She was pathetic but I was so relieved I hugged her tightly wanting to scold her but unable to do so! Of course it cost me a bundle to bring her home but I tell this story because I remember how panicked I was. If I had had a GPS Pet Locator I would have been able to track her within minutes, and rescued the poor thing from the freezing cold.
My story was one full of luck. Someone did pick her up and take her to the pound and we were reunited but had we lived in the country with no passing cars and dangerous animals lurking or had she been run over by a fast moving vehicle, our story would have had a terrible ending. A GPS Pet Locating device is the perfect solution to your worries. I wouldn’t be without one ever again!
Here is how the GPS pet locator works:
GPS Pet Location Systems use an ordinary collar that is equipped with GPS technology. Just snap the collar on your dog, turn it on.The handheld unit can track up to three dogs simultaneously. A collar is required for each dog.
GPS Dog Fencing:
GPS pet locators are also designed so that you can easily set up a” GPS Dog Fence”. A GPS pet locator
uses GPS coordinates that you establish by walking the perimeter of your desired fence, and commits them to memory. If your dog exits this perimeter, an audible alarm will sound. For example, you may wish to establish your property line as the perimeter for your dog. After setting up your fence, this information would be stored in your system and if your dog wanders off your property, the alarm will sound. Because this boundary is electronic, you can erase and create new ones as often as you like, giving you the flexibility for any situation or condition.
To summarize the capabilities and ways a gps pet locator works
GPS pet locators vary in design and capabilities but generally speaking they are similarly equipped. I have outlined the following.
GPS pet locators can:
* Locate your dog anywhere within a three mile distance using advanced GPS technology – simply
by placing a collar around your dog’s neck!
* Displays your dog’s exact location, current movements and velocity on a hand held color LCD screen.
* Create a virtual GPS dog fence; an alert will sound if your dog crosses the defined boundary.
* Track up to three dogs simultaneously
* Easy to use – no installation required; no third-party services required.
* Hand held unit and collar run on rechargeable batteries (included).
Experience taught me a valuable lesson. Our pets are nearly as precious to us as our children. They are definitely worth the investment of a GPS pet locator. Don’t be caught unawares without one!

Introduction
Sat Nav devices are by far the most popular car accessory available these days. Sat nav’s uncanny ability to help you sniff out an obscure location has made it one of the hottest selling items and with good reason. Sat Nav is a ‘win win’ situation for all road users and is set to banish two well known, if not always accurate, gender-based driver traits, namely that men would rather drive around lost before asking directions while women will never again feel their sense of direction is in doubt.
Navigation
Stay focused on the road and have your passengers take over the navigation with the help of a sat nav. Satellite Navigation Systems or GPS work by retrieving your exact location and traffic information from orbiting satellites and feeding the data to an in-built LCD screen. The calculated location is then presented on a detailed map so that you can track your movements en-route to your destination. Most sat nav models also come with a user selectable voice which tells the driver when to take a turn or warn them of any known problems such as a speed camera.
Speed
The latest sat navs often come laden with extras such as speed-trap locators or the ability to navigate by photos on their maps, but you don’t necessarily need the bells and whistles. Although you should be aware that the camera locations can change and so you’ll need to buy updates occasionally if you want to ensure you avoid any unwelcome points on your licence. Of course you could just drive at the speed limits! In a recent study of company car drivers covering over one million miles, it was found that drivers with a GPS safety device fitted to their vehicle were 50% less likely to have an accident and 74% less likely to have a speeding endorsement.
Price
From pocket money-priced covers that help make your sat nav unique, to high-quality cases, external antenna and GPS receivers that connect wirelessly to your PDA via Bluetooth, there’s a great range of sat nav and other sat nav accessories available at reasonable prices. Competition is fierce, which means low prices, but also bewildering choice. No matter how modest or swish your tastes, there is a well-priced model to suit you. Well priced, and European maps are only £40 more. Choosing between the two devices may well come down to price. Compare prices and products before you buy with a comparison shopping service. So expect to pay around £100 for a decent sat nav model to over £500 for a model which has speed trap warning or traffic jam information alert functions in-built.
Conclusion
Adding cheap sat nav is a great way of instantly upgrading your car and making journeys go more smoothly, safely, and economically. In fact you could also do your bit for the planet by using your sat nav to plan your long trips better and cut down on un-necessary ‘lost’ mileage which invariable happens when using a paper map.
Now is a great time to buy a sat nav as the competition is fierce so there are many great bargains to be had.
The GPS-enabled cellphone market is forecast to more than double by 2012, hitting 550 million units. Put it all together and GPS chipset revenue is expected to more than double to $1.3 billion in just three years time, according to In-Stat. The GPS-based NextGen system, slated for completion by 2025, will straighten routes (blue) and allow more planes to safely share the skies. Currently, Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) guide planes through takeoff, then hand them over to a Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facility that keeps approach and departure corridors orderly over the next 50 miles. The GPS system has been designed to be as nearly accurate as possible. However, there are still errors.
Cell phone GPS tracking can also be a useful feature to the emergency services or police when responding to a 911 call from a GPS cell phone. For this reason, the FCC has legislated that wireless networks provide location information for 911 calls made from cell phones. Cell phone GPS tracking systems is touted as one of the most advanced technological milestones in the history of mobile communication systems. Global Positioning Systems (GPS) enables the users to trail his own location through the analysis of satellite signals beamed down from many satellites. Cell phone GPS website Mandated in the aftermath of September 11th, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) required cell service providers to make GPS tracking of cell phone calls possible. All phones made since 2005 are GPS-trackable.
Cell phone GPS tracking is one of those advances. Cell Phone GPS tracking can prove useful in many walks of life and especially when any emergency arises. Picture the scene of a road accident where injuries have occurred.
Update: Nokia intend the N95 to be a powerful one for all replacement for a media player, digital camera, digital camera, PDA and now a GPS navigation device. It features a 2-way slide concept to simplify switching between different functionalities. Nokia, Motorola and Beneflon are just a few of the companies now providing GPS-enabled phones. This will change as the other manufacturers catch up, then we will see this technology being installed as a default inclusion.
GPS devices are now widely used in automobiles. If it provides commuters with dynamically road and highway maps, driving directions, must be lost during their travels in the weekend or a holiday a thing of the past.
Portable GPS also has lists of hospitals, auto service, restaurants, gas stations and other points of interest through the point, touch or voice announcement operations that provide the pilot with all the information they need, whilewhich has kept its eyes on the road. For the first time GPS users share the same impression automotive GPS devices. The incredible precision and ride comfort, the mobile GPS is an add-on driving safety, that will never be an option.
That said, GPS car has become an essential part of our daily movements. Therefore, you put your money at the top rated GPS is a nice addition to your car. Butwith the number of models and portable GPS devices that can be seen on the market today, you could be collection may be difficult.
In order to effectively cut your options, keep in mind four things, simple operation, voice guidance, map updates and features of the bright screen.
Enter unit to provide ease of use. Modern GPS receivers are now equipped with advanced navigation systems, it seems difficult for a layman like you can integrate. Unless you are well informed about the extensiveGPS applications, you can enjoy high-tech GPS receivers. Make a list of GPS capabilities and tools that you know and use. Hi-tech never quite cheap, would be a shame for expensive features you will never use them to pay.
During the race it is important to keep your eyes on the road. That said, add them to deliver the daily commute with GPS devices, the voice instructions. It would be an added convenience, if the same unit that can accept voice commands. ThatSo do not always look at the device to know exactly where you are going. In this way, you get complete control over your running to keep.
Updated maps are great if you're a well traveled person. Well-known brands offer features upgradeable GPS map on their website business. Finally, check the GPS devices that display is clear and crisp electronic charts and navigation data.
The function is the assembly of the GPS receivers'most often overlooked but important GPS feature. As portable GPS has become a commodity, is integrated with a range of mounting kits. To ensure that your mounting hardware securely enough to the device is able to hold and study enough to device from bumps and vibrations and bumps encountered sudden the street to protect.
Also, consider welcoming some new GPS features. To make use of models, provide full 3D street maps with traffic information and rerouting capabilities. Some devices are integrated hands-free mobile phone applications. To entertain you with some devices are integrated FM transmitter. For added security, some are also protected with anti-theft features.
Not all GPS receivers and mobile devices are created equal. Each GPS model and brand, go to your basic need, and satisfy more cut. Although the additional functions and increased> Application of GPS is more expensive than traditional GPS navigation applications, can comfortably meet your driving needs to add security. The affirmation of the best GPS on your car use is fairly subjective, but there must be something that meets all your expectations and covers all the necessary information to avoid being lost in the middle of nowhere.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) was originally developed by the American, the satellite (the first satellite was launched in 1978) launched into orbit. The system consists of a network of 24-32 satellites in orbit around the Earth at about 7,000 mph, every day precisely twice. In the early days, the military can keep track of signs in 1980 but was open to the public. Before entering into the specifics, it is important to recognizethat the use of the satellite network is free, no subscription required.
Another advantage is the system is essentially independent of time and it is all over the world. Some may remember the Loran system, which became popular with surfers from GPS. Loran was capable of very precise, but only in limited areas where transmission of the signals was sufficient and if the weather was not opposed. GPS transmissionSatellites in orbit around the earth in a very precise and consistent. As they orbit about 12,000 miles that transmit radio signals 24 hours a day, every day. The only receivers that we use to receive signals transmitted and compare the time the signal has been received against the clock has been successful. Knowing the signals travel at a fixed rate of speed makes it easy to calculate because the satellite and the receiver of each other.
If this process were made with a single satellite, theResult would be useful for us because it refers only to an arc of the situation. To improve the accuracy of the receiver, the signals received from at least three satellites. In actual use, the receiver usually follow the signals from many other satellites. To provide such data as speed, direction traveled, distance, etc. of the receiver repeats the calculation of the position on an ongoing basis and used to update the position and other data. The transmitted signal contains the satellitesID, the position of the satellite at a specific time and date and time. Accuracy of the receivers has improved with advances in technology at an average of about 15 meters. In practice it is common to see the precision of a meter or two, at least temporarily.
If the GPS was opened for public use is intentionally degraded the signal from the government, which has been called Selective Availability (SA). SA has been set, so enjoy now complete accuracy of the civilian system. The technology called Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) in some recipients, the best accuracy of about 5 meters. Receivers are equipped with technology for differential corrections data on other known references. The end result is accuracy and functionality of GPS receivers to the point that we can all count on. As a result we now see and enjoy GPS watches, cars and boats GPS navigation systems, GPS mobile phones.

According to most, The Thomas Guide used to be the apex of car navigation, but GPS and digital-mapping technology have made an evolutionary leap. These navigation systems help you get from point A to point B with audible driving directions, color maps, points of interest, and much more. They were once a novelty tech toy for early adopters and gadget hounds, however, they’ve gained in popularity and the market is now flooded with them. Last Christmas, GPS devices were the most requested electronic in 2007. There were 34 million units sold in 2007.
Selecting a GPS device that will be the best GPS for you can be a daunting task. There are many selections out there. Usually that means weighing the features you want with what you’re willing to spend. In the end, selection is really a personal decision and sometimes you’ve just got to go with what looks good to you. They’re all going to do what they were designed for – keep you from getting lost! Having the best GPS is extremely useful, but there’s also something about buying a new shiny toy that plays a role in my decision. Don’t buy a GPS device just because it’s really cool to have one, but find one that you want to have fun with while it is being useful for you. There are NO subscriptions or monthly fees associated with using a GPS device. When you buy a GPS, you can use it all you want and don’t have to pay another dime. Some GPS devices offer options as a Traffic receiver and Bluetooth. The traffic option does require a yearly subscription. The Bluetooth option has no fees. Bluetooth allows you to pair your Bluetooth compatible cell phone with your GPS device, enabling you to call and answer phone calls hands free thru the GPS.
Do you need a GPS device? If you’re looking for a help with travel into unfamiliar cities and country roads, a car GPS is great, much better than fiddling with maps. It also helps avoid those disagreements from your backseat driver while trying to navigate to your final destination. With car GPS voices guiding you turn by turn with voice prompts and visual maps, the days of making wrong turns, getting lost and wasting time (and gas!) will finally come to an end. With GPS voices, you and your family can enjoy traveling or make business trips less stressful.
GPS devices aren’t just for vacations and business trips….they are just as useful around town. I travel for my work to different stores around the Dallas metro-plex, the one of the most sprawling metro-plexes in the world. I enter the addresses to all my stores, as well as friends across town, restaurants, parks, other businesses, and on and on. Where ever I am, it’s nice to know I can always find my way back home just by typing a key.
Car GPS devices already have detailed road maps preloaded on the device. Compare features, including the size of the GPS screen, whether you need Bluetooth or traffic notification features, and what the unit looks like. Once you have the best GPS for you, you can begin to look at GPS software.
With sales of GPS devices reaching a tipping point with over 30% market penetration, a growing segment of the population is seeking additional software/personalization to their GPS devices. The current offerings of GPS voice products on the market are fairly slim, however, there is a new GPS software product out there that has the following criteria, easy to use and install, ability to personalize your electronic device, serves the GPS communities need of the desire to change, compatible with a personal device. Currently in order to buy and use other similar products is A MASSIVLY difficult undertaking for your average user.
GPS navigation voices: The force is strong with this one! Everywhere you turn, someone is telling you where to go–your boss, your mother, spouse, or kids. And these days, an increasing number of drivers are being told where to go by their portable GPS devices. As the novelty of the from-the-factory generic GPS voice wears thin, the electronic navigator can be upgraded to a GPS voice with a bit more personality, like Yoda’s, for example.
One site offers a variety of choices for their portable navigation systems. Downloads of various men and women of different nationalities and personalities are available, and you can listen to a sample before you decide. (Choices depend on your country of origin.) Downloadable options include a grandmotherly-sounding voice, or one billed as “The Don.” As in, according to the Web site: “He’s about to make you an offer you can’t refuse and take you for a ride.” All righty, then. Either The Don or Granny can be yours for a price, as can the voice of a New York cabbie. Frankly, I’m not too sure about that one. He doesn’t sound like he’s from New York to me.
The real fun with GPS Voices begins with celebrity impressions for TomTom GPS and Garmin GPS. How’d you like to take marching orders from Arnold the Governator? For a fee, he’ll tell you where to go, and so will the omni-present God, some beautiful hot chicks, or George W Bush, who could help you find better gas prices, weapons of mass destruction, or misdirect/direct you where to go.
One of the most amazing inventions man has ever made is the GPS or the Global Positioning System. If you want to find out about your location accurately, all you need to do is to consult any GPS receiver or any gadget that’s capable of GPS to tell you where you are. Just like how reliable GPS is with location, you can also trust it to tell accurate time. GPS wireless clocks, for example, use the GPS satellites to record time and data. The data will then be transferred and read by GPS receivers and then you can access the time through the GPS wireless clock systems connected to the data receivers. Pretty neat, huh?
A lot of establishments are already using wireless GPS for their synchronized clocks systems. This is because such technology is deemed as one of the most accurate in their category and they’re energy efficient too. Also, it doesn’t take a lot of equipment to have this kind of technology. All you need to gather are the GPS data receiver, the GPS wireless clocks and one master transmitter. Place your receivers at the roof of your building/s then you can install the master transmitter and the wireless clocks. That’s it! No complicated wiring or passcodes. Then you’ve got a GPS wireless clock system.
Because accuracy and convenience are the top selling attributes of the GPS wireless clock systems, here’s exactly how they work. Once your receiver receives the transferred data, the transmitter will send the signal to the wireless clocks in your building. The clocks will acknowledge the signals and then they will set and adjust their time accurately. You don’t need to adjust it at all, and you don’t need to change any batteries either since they run on electricity. Although this does mean that when the power goes out, the clocks also lose power, when the power comes back again, they will adjust by themselves and continue telling accurate time.
With this kind of precision, these synchronized clocks are very much in demand in high-rate schools, hospitals and other establishments. The professionals in these buildings know that it is a worthy investment because it has many benefits. Flaky security logs are history. Late comers can’t debate with time discrepancies anymore. Lastly, it forces everyone to succumb to a system, a system of time, a very important one, and this makes such technology one of the most coveted technologies in the professional world.
The set up for GPS wireless clock systems are quite pricey. However, the costs will surely be justified once the advantages come in. And remember, set up is just a one-time cost. The benefits will be enjoyed for as long as it works and it doesn’t have a limit up to how many people can only use it. It’s truly one worthy investment.
